Jay was always creative growing up, and custom woodworking became another way to channel that creativity, blending his passion for making things with a lifetime spent outdoors.
His love for fishing, hunting, the Texas coast, the Hill Country, and various travels all influence the unique wood products he creates.
Sometimes this influence is evident, while at other times it’s reflected in the choice of wood, an unexpected detail, or the core idea behind a piece.
Today, Jay builds everything from handcrafted wood furniture and one-of-a-kind tables to charcuterie boards, serving pieces, and custom commissions.
Operating from his shop in Austin, he carefully selects materials for their character, approaching each project distinctively. Every cut, detail, and finish passes through his hands from start to finish.
Jay isn't interested in creating the same piece of custom woodworking repeatedly. Each handcrafted wood furniture item begins with its own unique materials and inspiration, evolving through a thoughtful process. The end result is a unique wood product that possesses its own character and can't be exactly duplicated.
Fishing, coastal life, hunting, the Hill Country, and time spent outside have always influenced Jay's creative perspective, shaping his approach to custom woodworking. That inspiration is evident throughout his work, which features handcrafted wood furniture and unique wood products, in ways both obvious and subtle.
These aren't pieces meant to sit untouched. They're custom woodworking tables to gather around, handcrafted wood furniture boards to put out when friends come over, and unique wood products that serve as functional art, getting better as they become part of your life.

Distinctive and full of character, Russian olive wood features dramatic grain, knots, and natural variation, making it an ideal choice for custom woodworking. This unconventional wood beautifully complements Jay’s artistic designs and is perfect for creating handcrafted wood furniture and unique wood products.
Olive wood is celebrated for its rich contrast and beautifully unpredictable grain, making it a prime choice in custom woodworking. No two sections are identical, which enhances the appeal of handcrafted wood furniture and ensures that each piece is a unique wood product that becomes an integral part of the design.
Deep, warm, and timeless, walnut brings richness to custom woodworking projects without needing much embellishment. Its natural color and grain make it equally at home in handcrafted wood furniture and more unique wood products.
Jay’s custom woodworking extends beyond a fixed selection of species. He carefully chooses wood for its character, figuring, history, and potential, allowing the material itself to influence what each piece of handcrafted wood furniture and unique wood products ultimately become.
Handcrafted from distinctive hardwoods. Original by design, built to last.
